    Getting There!

Hello! It has been a long 4+ years since my last post. An even longer 4+ years since I’ve had a new release.

2015 was a difficult year. Life threw a couple of major curveballs at me and I struck out. (An ironic analogy, since my last release before I disappeared from writing life had a baseball theme.) But I’m off the bench and I’ve been working on my swing, getting back into condition to rejoin the author roster.

I’m twelve scenes away from the end of an OW/YM (older woman/younger man) romance that still doesn’t have a title, but promises to turn up the heat wherever you’re reading it while also making you chuckle and tug on your heartstrings a little. This couple has a few curveballs of their own to deal with before finding their happily ever after. But I promise they will. And so will I.

Sam & Leigh’s love story is book 2 in the Very Personal Training series. Though you meet the hero as a secondary character in Body of Work, the new book completely stands alone.

I’m super excited to share it with you! For now, how about a totally unofficial, unedited, subject-to-change blurb, just to give you a taste of the story ahead?

When personal trainer Sam bumps into his favorite former client, their chemistry reignites instantly. Leigh is everything he pictured in his “sometime down the road” woman. Sexy, funny, independent, mature—in more ways than one. He never cared about their age gap, he just wasn’t ready to get serious before. He’s ready now. But when his prior playboy ways come back to bite him in the ass, it’ll take more than sizzling sex and charm to convince Leigh to stick around.

Leigh’s life is humming along according to plan. Her custom bakery is thriving. Her daughter is a well-adjusted ten-year-old. Romance is the one area that’s lacking. Completely. Until the universe fulfills her request for some hot lovin’ and puts Sam in her path—for a second time. Sam gives her exactly what she was missing, and more. Maybe more than her well-structured life plan can handle…

Sound good? Are you as pumped to read it as I am to release it? I hope so!

Sunday Snippet — ICING ON THE CAKE — The Number to Beat

Welcome back for another Sunday snippet from ICING ON THE CAKE. After some hot-and-heavy messing around in the parking lot outside their siblings’ wedding reception, Curtis and Sara are on their way to his hotel room.

    Icing on the Cake“You’re cute.”

“I am not cute,” she said. “If you think I’m cute, I’d love to see the women you normally take home.”

“You got jealous when I danced with somebody at the reception, but you’d like a visual of the women who’ve come before you—literally.”

“I did not get jealous. Jealousy is for women who want long-term exclusivity and commitment.” She unbuckled her seat belt and moved as close as the bucket seats and gear shift allowed, then slid her hand over his thigh and squeezed. “All I want from you is a record-setting number of orgasms.”

    “What’s the number to beat?”

“Depends—who you want to compete with, a human, or my vibrator?”

    ICING ON THE CAKE
Close to Home series — Book 2

Nia and Conn’s wedding will be fairytale perfect…if their siblings can get along.

Free-spirited, anti-establishment Sara has always been on the outside of her family’s fairytale mold. Now she’s being forced smack into the middle of it at her sister Nia’s wedding. Alongside the cocky and annoyingly sexy best man—Conn’s cop brother.

Curtis doesn’t buy in to organized romance and fairytales. But for his brother, he’ll throw on a tux and fake it for a few hours. His flak vest would have been a better choice around the maid of honor. He should have brought his handcuffs too, because somebody needs to restrain the dark-haired spitfire—and he’s just the man for the job.

One night to indulge the spark between them, then goodbye—that was the agreement. Curtis isn’t looking for a relationship and he sure doesn’t want a troublemaker for a girlfriend. The last thing Sara needs in her daily life is a cop looking over her shoulder, no matter how hot he is.
But giving in to their chemistry is much more fun than giving it up…

Today I’m happy to share the cover for one of my dearest friend’s upcoming release. BETRAYAL by A.S. Fenichel is the third book in the Demon Hunters series. These books are action-packed, spicy historical/paranormal romance. Intrigued? You should be. 🙂

    Betrayal_final

To survive as a scullery maid requires hard work, discipline, and a stiff upper lip. To survive as a Demon Hunter is something else entirely. Elizabeth Smythe learned this after she was captured by Demons and rescued by Hunters. Now a Hunter herself, Elizabeth’s first task in this new and strange world is to aid the recently wounded Lord Reece Foxjohn, and get him back into Demon-slaying shape. . .

Reece Foxjohn is used to defying convention. He enraged his family by becoming a Demon Hunter, and prefers eviscerating the spawn of Satan to mixing with the ton. He is a man who doesn’t hesitate when he knows what he wants, and what he wants is Miss Elizabeth Smythe. From the moment he set eyes on the fiery Hunter, he’s wanted to claim her for his own. To watch her behead the progeny of Evil is to behold a thing of beauty.

Sunday Snippet — ICING ON THE CAKE — Role Play

I hope you’re enjoying Curtis and Sara’s fun, fiery courtship from ICING ON THE CAKE. In this week’s snippet, they’ve (finally) made it into his car after a few very hot minutes in the parking lot that involved Sara taking off her heels to avoid scratching the paint on the hood of Curtis’ Mustang.

Icing on the Cake“I like these,” he said, depositing the stilettos on her lap as he filled his side of the car with his big frame and even bigger presence. “Put them back on.”

“Ooh, are we going to role-play ‘dirty cop fucks a call girl’? I like that one.”

“I don’t role-play.” The look he gave her while bringing the car rumbling to life would have made an erupting volcano seem frigid. “I don’t need games to make sex exciting.”

For many guys, that claim would be laughable. Coming from Curtis, it seemed more like a threat wrapped in a promise…or the other way around. Either way, it was no joke.

    Sunday Snippet—ICING ON THE CAKE—More

Thanks for stopping by to read this week’s Sunday snippet from ICING ON THE CAKE. In last week’s excerpt, Curtis put Sara on notice about their night together. Do you think she believed him? Or that he’s the type to make good on his sexy threats? Let’s follow them to the parking lot and see how their night is progressing…

Icing on the CakeHe wouldn’t have thought his dick could get any harder, but it did. Hard as granite and feral with need, that’s how she’d made him. He broke their kiss and bullied her toward the Mustang’s passenger door. “In the car—now.”

“How romantic,” she said, reaching for the handle.

He caught her arm and pinned her against the side of the car. “You don’t want romantic. You want raw, a fuck so hard you feel it with every step tomorrow. With every breath. And you want it from me.”

Sunday Snippet — ICING ON THE CAKE — Pickpocket

Thanks for the great comments last week. (And every week.) I’m so glad you all enjoyed watching Sara try not to catch Nia’s bridal bouquet. The rest of the scene is good for a few more laughs, so I recommend picking up ICING ON THE CAKE and reading the entire thing. *hint hint*

Today’s snippet follows after Sara has properly dealt with that darn bouquet. Well, aside from the fact that Curtis has video evidence of the ordeal on his cell phone…

Icing on the CakeShe traced the edges of his lapels and pressed up against him. It had been awhile since she liberated the contents of somebody’s pocket—no time like the present to see if she still had the skills.

Curtis circled her wandering hand with his fingers. “Arresting you for pickpocketing isn’t how I intend to spend our night together.”

“So just give it to me.”

“Oh, I plan to.” His free hand landed on her ass, pulled her in tight enough to feel the hard ridge pressing against her abdomen. “You feel that? Forget the phone—that’s what I’m going to give to you. Every way you can take it, then maybe a couple more.”

Sunday Snippet — ICING ON THE CAKE — Bouquet Toss, Part 2

Because I know you’re curious what happened with Sara after Nia tossed the bridal bouquet, this Sunday’s bit picks up where last week’s left off.

Icing on the CakeFrom the edge of the dance floor, Curtis grinned at her. Like a stupid deer caught in the headlights, Sara stood there and stared back, utterly immobile, despite the screeched warnings of an impending collision.

“What the hell?” she said when something heavy whacked her on the head, then, “Shit!” as she used old high school volleyball techniques to swat the bouquet away.

    All around her—scrambling, hooting, shrieking.

Forget sisterly obligation or maid-of-honor duty, she was done. She pushed against the flow, only a couple more feet and she’d be in the clear. She broke free of the estrogen-charged frenzy and threw her arms up as if she’d scored a touchdown—victory was hers.

    Whap.

The bouquet, in her outstretched arms, out of fucking nowhere, without a nearby desperate female to shunt it to. So much for victory.

Sunday Snippet — ICING ON THE CAKE — Bouquet Toss

Oh, wedding receptions. So much fun. 😉 Sara just found out it’s time for her sister Nia to toss the bouquet. Sounds like something the snarky maid of honor, will enjoy, doesn’t it?

Icing on the Cake“I see that look,” Nia clamped her hand around Sara’s wrist, “you’re not getting out of this.”

The DJ’s table was their first stop, and like any good disc jockey, he hung on every word the bride said, nodding in all the appropriate places before he took to the mic. “The bride would like all the single ladies to step onto the dance floor for the traditional tossing of the bouquet, it’s time to see which lovely lady will be next to say ‘I do…’”

Sara rolled her eyes. “With all the needy single women here, this could end up being a brawl in taffeta and satin. Maybe I should grab my phone and record it for your ‘wedding memories’ montage.”

“Nice try.” Hands on Sara’s upper arms, Nia walked her to the center of the floor. “You will stand right here and be part of the fun—no brawling, got it?”

“Fun that’s no fun, got it.”

Sunday Snippet — ICING ON THE CAKE — Speechless

Thanks for joining me for another Sunday snippet from ICING ON THE CAKE. This bite is a continuation of last week’s scene, with Curtis and Sara dancing at their siblings’ wedding. Let’s see how their obligatory-but-smoking-hot dance ends…

Icing on the Cake“Guess you have to let me go,” she whispered as the DJ announced that the bride and her father would dance to the next song.

“Only temporarily—you and I both know we’re not done.” He spoke the words against her ear, sliding his hand up over her back, into the ends of her hair. “Tell me I’m wrong and I’ll let you go permanently.” He released her, but caught her gaze as she stepped clear of him.

Her lips parted and moved, but nothing came out.

First time he’d seen Sara speechless, and he bet his Mustang it didn’t happen often. He winked and walked away, another mission accomplished.
