Her hands snaked up his chest, her nails making him shudder as they scraped the back of his neck then pushed through his hair. ā€œI always wondered about this, how it would feel.ā€

Felt like fucking heaven to him. ā€œAnd?ā€

ā€œVery soft.ā€ She arched her body tight against his. ā€œUnlike the rest of you.ā€

If only she knew the truth of that statement.

Release Day for Body of Work!

It’s here, release day for BODY OF WORK! I loved writing about Brian and Cassie, along with their family and friends (a couple of whom will be getting their own books). When I started writing this “dirty gym story”, I intended it to be a short novella. Well, the story showed me, didn’t it? It’s just shy of 70k words, and only because I told it “no more!” Lol. I hope you enjoy it. šŸ™‚

Sunday Snippet-04/28/2013 – Body of Work

Welcome, and thanksĀ for stopping by.Ā Today’s eight-sentence snippet is part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme, and comes from the early pages of my May 1st release, BODY OF WORK.

The past couple weeks have been from Cassie’s POV, as sheĀ finishes her workout and drools over the handsome, ginger-haired personal trainer at the gym. (Click here for previous snippets.) In the following excerpt, we’re with the hero, Brian, later that same night.

Brian rolled to a stop on Sloane Street. He killed the engine and stared through the rain-covered window of his Jeep at the white bungalow. If he did this, if he knocked on Cassieā€™s door at quarter to one in the morning, thereā€™d be no going back.

A man could only take so much. The petite brunette had caught his eye from day one. Sheā€™d been torturing him for monthsā€”chatting, teasing him with comments that made her blush, openly flirting with him while she exercised. Heā€™d have made his move immediately if not for his stupid contract.

Which led him back to the decision at handā€”to knock on her door or drive away?

Only a few more days until BODY OF WORK hits the virtual shelves! For now, you can read an excerpt or add it to Goodreads. (There’s already an ARC review up there, if you’re interested.)

Thanks so muchĀ for stopping by. Today’s eight sentences are part of the Weekend Writing Warriors meme —Ā just click that link for a complete list of participants.

This week’s snippet if from my upcoming release, BODY OF WORK,Ā available May 1st!

Think the gym is strictly for exercising? Think again. šŸ˜‰ Click here for last week’s snippet.

She grabbed the sanitizer and turned, shrieking when she face-planted into a wide expanse of chest. ā€œGeez, you need bells on your shoes or something.ā€ She looked up, then up some more until she got to his face. A tidy, super-short ginger beard and mustache framed sensual pink lips. Did the man ever not look delicious? Much more of this innocent contact and she might not make it out of the building before giving in to her bodyā€™s aching demands. A quickie in the ladiesā€™ locker roomā€”solo edition.

    Blurb:

Cassie has fantasized about the ginger-haired personal trainer for months. Brian is friendly, but never moreā€”until he appears on her doorstep and shows her how much her flirting has affected him. The more sheā€™s with him, the more Cassie wants the fairytale, not just hot sex with the six-two hunk. She can give Brian full access to her body, but after her exā€™s reaction to her explicit photography business, sharing her secrets, and her heart, isnā€™t an option.

Brian knows better than to break the rules. Donā€™t date gym members. Keep his inner beast on a leash during sex. Cassie tested his resolve on number one her first day in the gym. Shattered the second rule when he touched her. The petite pixie shares his preferences in the bedroom. She makes him laugh and loveā€”but past mistakes haunt him, emotionally and tangibly. Cassieā€™s worth the price heā€™ll pay for breaking the rules. Now he must convince her to give him her heart.

    Sunday Snippet-04/14/2013-Body of Work

The countdown is on! BODY OF WORK releases May 1st, just over two weeks from now!Ā The blurb, a longer excerpt and the “add to Goodreads” button are here, if you’re interested. šŸ™‚

Brian is a personal trainer at Cassie’s gym. He’s also the star of many of her best dreams. In this snippet, Cassie’s struggling to push through the last part of her chest workout. The hulking, hunky trainer has just appeared behind the weight bench, challenging her to do two more reps, and she has insisted she can’t.

Here areĀ eight sentences from page one…

Brianā€™s hands covered hers on the bar, blocking her from quitting. Also, setting off a riot of naughty thoughts about what they could do on this weight bench. Thank god her face was already beet red from the workout.

    ā€œYou can, Iā€™ll spot you.ā€

ā€œCheck my membershipā€”Iā€™m not paying for personal training.ā€

ā€œNo charge for my services tonight.ā€

In that case, she had a list of services sheā€™d like to add to her tab. Sweaty, naked services that did not involve this barbell.

    Blurb Time–Body of Work

I have the blurb for BODY OF WORK! A release date is just around the corner. I’m so excited for you to meet Brian Black and Cassie Johnson, along with some secondary characters I thoroughly enjoyed writing. I hope you’ll love them all as much as I do. Now, here’s the blurb…

    New Book Contract!

I’m very excited to announce some news… Last week, I accepted a contract for my next book, BODY OF WORK, with Ellora’s Cave.

When I started writing this story last fall, I intended it to be a short, hot novella. The characters had a lot more going on than originally planned, and it wound up a 70k novel. Oops. Oh well — more sex! More angst! More banter! I hope you’ll enjoy it.
